Checked out LULU POETRY site, and hey,
maybe it's just me, but it smacks of a purely
commercial site, holding contests, but hoping to
corral a gaggle of poets who want to have
their work, regardless of its merit, "published"
; at their expense, of course. They want you to
register, to become a "member", but of what.
There is no home page, or posting page,
where folks can leave comments. And the several
page Membership Agreement is a doozy,
full of so many disclaimers it is dizzying
to trudge through them. I am really
enjoying APPLEHOUSE POETRY WORKSHOP
that you linked to last week though.
Lynne Rees seems to be the real deal,
a professor, a Brit who lives in France,
a mentor, a poet, and like that. I did
write one poem for her about the subject
"small towns", and she made some
interesting comments on it.
Your posting smacked of that unique
Palmer wordspeak and grit and world
view, but I could not find a poem in it
this time; almost, but not quite.
Still amazes me when I look back over
the 5,000+ postings I have put on
FFTR, and I am pretty sure that there
are more Doug Palmer poems on it
than my poems. Most of them were
spewed out as palmer-prose, and I
found the line breaks, rhythms,
shape, and theme in them; but
Christ, you have more than 100
of them posted now. Perhaps you
should gather them up and contact
LuLu Poetry and have a book of them
published. It would serve the rest of
us "serious" poets right it a slim
volume of your stuff caught on, and
created another identity for you.
I am home today. Decided to make this
a 4 day weekend. It felt just fine to
log like 9 hours of sleep, get up when
I woke up, see what kind of a day it
is, have some breakkie, run out to Fred
Meyer for some groceries, read the
TNT Friday GO section for the new
films opening today, and slink in here
to check on you. I am sure that this
but a small taste of what awaits me
in late June, enit?

Glenn
I'll have another look at Lulu.
I submitted my whitewater poem.
Maybe we'll just have to cut them off.

You put a lot of effort into your work.
I don't.
