Another Today
Have to clean the house while M is at the garage sale.
Have to cook something for the potluck.
Have to try to remember if I read the book.
Yes, I did.
What did I think of it?
Can I remember back that far?
Will I find something positive to say?
Or reasonably intelligent?
Or at least not too sarcastic, dismissive, or insulting.
What was it about, anyway?
Sorry about the lameness of this post, but I'm going to go and do something that doesn't make my brain hurt.

No lameness here.
If anything, I think it represents a wonderfully frivolous post to gently interrupt the current theme of the blog (whatever that current theme may be).
Really? I guess I'll have to go back and read it.
Hallo, Lane!
Cleaning house should not hurt the brain much.
What could hurt the brain is a bike accident when you didn't wear your helmet. A friend in Berlin did not wear one when she had a collision with a car; how the collision happened she doesn't remember, as she had such a bad concussion that she was in a coma for two hours. She now (a month later) seems coherent on the phone.
And she has just returned to her job, an elementary school teacher. In our phone conversation, she said she has just bought a helmet for when she starts to ride her bike again. I will try to convince the LL to wear a helmet, but convincing her of anything is not easy; she has a very strong mind of her own.
She also sends regards to you, Meredith, and Keth.

Anonomann
Hallo, again, Lane!
The manager of the Quartett here to whom I gave your most recent quartett has had/has such health problems that his personal physician ordered him to stop his work on the chamber music program he has run in Schwerin's Castle for the last 15 years. So yet another health problem has limited the number of quartets that I can offer your music to (last year the 'cellist in another quartet had to give up for health reasons, so that quartet disbanded, too). The only quartet that remains here is a piano quartet (1 piano, 1 violin, 1 viola, and 1 'cello). So, unless you have a quartet for that combo. I'm afraid I have nothing of yours to offer to any existing quartet that I know personally.
The best way to get your works performed is to be named the "Composer-in-Residence" for an orchestra. How about the one in which the Talvis perform, as they like your music. And concert masters should have some clout in orchestras not run by musically-incompetent dictators.
Toi, toi, toi, &

Gosh, I take an afternoon off
and this site comes alive!
Nice posts and nicer comments,
I must say. I really dug your
bile and bluster on those
"random acts of kindness"
from Friday. Borrowed them
and placed them wholesale on
FFTR. I was thinking the other
day....yes, I do that once in
a while--and though I have not
counted them up, I think there
are more Palmer poems on my
site than my own poems.
What's up with that?
We had a spirited meeting
on Friday night, and a screening
of THE MISFITS. Then Melva and
I worked hard at doing nothing
for most of the weekend. Our
daughters both dropped by on
Sunday for a visit. Our youngest
is struggling to accommodate to
her two new roommates. We told
her she can move back home if
she wants to. I think she will
tough it out, or get new
roommates. Going to be a busy
week of sorts. Will have the
executive committee meeting for
TFC tomorrow night, then Veteran's
Day off, then a screening of
LONELY ARE THE BRAVE on Friday
night next. Spent a few hours
setting up the agenda and writing
the invitation to the screening;
they are like mini-reviews they
tell me. As to lameness in
your postings, heck, it ain't
necessarily so. "G" is bang on.
It is/was "wonderfully frivilous"
and "gently interrupts the
current theme of the blog.
What is the theme, anyway?
Something to do with parady,
humor, levity, philosophy, wit,
wisdom, journal, diary, and
bitch session?
Whatever it is, it brings me
here almost daily to get my
dose of it, and to add to
the mix with my own perspective.
Glenn
Sorry, what were you saying?
Cleaning and reading doesn't work, cooking and reading does, why bother cleaning? I'd rather have an aching brain than aching knees from scrubbing.
why can't Glenn Buttkus reach me? When I can reach him?
What's with Anonomann and Tschuess? And why can't I reach him either?
Will you also please tell me why your comment (for which many thanks) said the sleep post is 'incomplete', always bearing in mind that blog readers have short attention spans? Explanation, please.
I am now officially following you although you can't tell from your blog.
Incomplete, incomplete. Why did I say incomplete?
it's not scary enough?
I usually wake up being beaten by cops.
I dunno...
Anonnomann is a friend I made at SSO during my volunteering experiment.
He remains anonymous for fear of retaliation by that group of strange people.
He is American but prefers (east) Germany.
Schwerin to be exact.
He rents a US address at our house and does his best to promote my mediocre music.
Salt of the earth he is.
Sweat soaked sheets are also involved.
