Bruckner in the toilet

I just read a comment on facebook by a well known and loved bassoonist.
a guy who plays with a remarkable fluidity on that difficult instrument
The sharps and flats require amazing convoluted fingering and a thumb that goes beyond prehensile into the realm of the ineffable, (I can't eff it anyway).
Just to hear him warm up before a concert is a concert in itself.

Anyway here's what he said. Here's what the bassoonist said;

"spent the day rebuilding toilets and the night playing Bruckner. The toilets were preferable."

By the way, Never thumb wrestle a bassoonist

For those of us not in the know, what you seem to be referencing is:

Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 8 in C minor is the last Symphony the composer completed. It exists in two major versions of 1887 and 1890. It was premiered under conductor Hans Richter in 1892 in Vienna. It is dedicated to the Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria.

This symphony is sometimes nicknamed The Apocalyptic.

My lip is stuck out a mile again this morning. I bumped into some great poetry by Allison Adelle Hedge Coke, and spent a number of hours putting about 15 of them on FFTR, with two Bio articles about the author. This morning in my email was another stinging request to remove ALL her material, or suffer some "legal action". I, of course, took it all down. I emailed her and asked with hat in hand what the issue was? The internet is a public forum. All of that poetry is available on line for any one to read it any time. Where is the issue, problem, crime?
I hope she is kind enough to respond and enlighten me. I wonder who I have to consult to get an outline of the legalities of posting poetry, articles, or other kinds of data. I remember one time last year I used a jpg of a painting, available on Google imagery, and the artist contacted me and said I needed written permission to use that picture. So I removed it. I am sick to death with being bullied and threatened and pushed about with threats of "legal action"!!! Of course, it is possible that I routinely break some ordinance or law or brook common sense in my neverending quest to present quality stuff on FFTR. I notice that you often do a link to other blogs, and only repost material rarely. I always thought you did that becuse it was easier than the reposting. What's the dealio?

Ms. Coke had been alerted by a "friend" as to my devious activities. I am certain that that friend was Sherwin Bitsui. Damn, this is mushrooming into a migraine, enit?
