Hallo, Lane!
Your music is NOT mediocre!!!!!!!
This will be my last comment from the USA on your blogsite. I return to Germany tomorrow evening from SEA-TAC.
The LL and I wish you, Meredith, Keth, and Cat an enjoyable rest of 2008 and a "Happy 2009"!!!
"Happy days (will be) here again" to quote the theme song of the Roosevelt 1932 campaign; they will be here again in the coming Obama government succeeding another Republican-caused depression that the USA now suffers thanks to greedy Capitalists!!
Tschuess,
Anonomann
Finally getting around to reading my copy of Sherman Alexie's TEN LITTLE INDIANS, ten short stories that he published in 2003; great stuff. The first story, THE SEARCH ENGINE has to do with a lost poet and his poetry, Harlan Atwater, a Spokane Indian no one on the Rez can remember. Four of Harlan/Sherman's poems appear in the story. He tried to make them rough edged and less than Alexie, but still Sherman shines through. Find them today on FFTR.

Thank you, by the way, Anonomann, for reading ON PATROL, and what a terrific response. I deserve it, of course, as Lane puts it. I have a been a poet all my life; unpublished novelist, film critic, ex-actor, and special Ed teacher; quite a character, enit?

Don't underestimate your compositions. I love the hauntingly beautiful string quartet, the throbbing cello duo, the down-and-out character of Sad Song, the serenity of Four Songs, and recognize how I feel in the morning while listening to Nightmare Prelude.
Butch,Sherman Alexie's Ten Little Indians is a great collection. My favorite is: What You Pawn I Will Redeem
I have to pry myself away from the computer now..you guys are a Distraction!
