What's the Dealio? Are you illustrating what a "real" female politician should be, could be, was?

Chase Smith was an early opponent of Senator Joseph McCarthy. On June 1, 1950, she gave her Declaration of Conscience speech on the floor of the Senate, earning McCarthy's permanent ire and the nickname "Moscow Maggie" from his staff.[1] In 1954, when McCarthy attempted to challenge her seat by sponsoring a primary challenger, the Maine voters rejected the effort.

Senator Chase Smith appeared as the Mystery Guest on a June 1953 episode of What's My Line?

Janis Benson portrayed Senator Chase Smith in the 1998 miniseries From the Earth to the Moon.

Patricia Neal dramatized Senator Chase Smith's Declaration of Conscience speech in the 1978 television movie Tail Gunner Joe.

Of course, she never had Tina Fey do an imitation of her, so perhaps her fame will fade like so many others. The more I see of Sarah Palin, the more irritating her Barbie cutsey little girl gosh-gee whizz dang-me patter is wearing thin.

Chase Smith came from Maine, which gets almost as cold as Alaska, but she never looked like a babe and talked like an airhead neither. Let's hope Sarah P. just fades into the obscurity of time passing and President Obama leads us into a new world and a new day.

Just a change.
Because I can't think of anything to post that meets even the pathetic standards of this site.
There is a u-tube of Palin playing the flute on line somewhere, but I cant remember how I found it, so that's not useful information, is it?

She plays better flute than I do.
Maine is actually south of here.
Seattle is on the same latitude as Paris.
London is on the same latitude as the north end of Vancouver island.
Or Queen Charlotte island.
Or some damned place.
The east coast girls are hip
The Ukraine girls really knock me out.
And Georgia's always on my mi mi mind.

Hallo, Lane (and other Progreessives)!
Too bads the always-stupid (this time S. Palin) Republicans did not nominate M.C. Smith!! If they had, we'd have been spared 4 more years of LBJ and the escalation of the War-to-Keep-Vietnam capitalist!
