Hallo, Lane, et al.:
I, too, miss Paul Newman, especially his social activism and philanthropy (if not his movies -- we avoid Hollywood drivel -- or his salad sauces -- I prefer to taste the veggies, not some chemical additive!). Fortunately, the Paul Newman´Foundation lives on to promote his good works!!

Yes, what a shock. Reporters said he was always a heavy smoker, so although the survived all the car racing, the cigaretters brought him down. Considering that, living to be 83 was remarkable, but Cancer doesn't care. It is out there lurking, waiting for each of us to become a host. His body of film work is really substantial, only about 40% of it was "drivel"; much like my poetry I suspect.
The word in the industry was that Paul Newman was a mensch, an honest and caring individual who never acted like a celebrity. We will all miss him. Whose next, Kirk Douglas?
