Fearless fuzzbutt
O.K. I just noticed on Alex's site that she's posting pictures of cute animals.
Her blog seems to indicate that this is a common practice.
I guess it would be.
So, in another pathetic attempt to be "part of the gang" so to speak, I'm posting this picture of my cute little (14lbs) kitty.
The whole story can be found on this site under posts with "draincat" in the title; 12/13 2006 and earlier.

Hallo, again, Lane!
Alex's animals (I just visited her site on your recommendation) are more intersting/varied than your cats, but not more beautiful, though Alex is more beautiful than you, but you are a better composer (I like your music more than hers)!
The epic story of Polalie is worthy of a children's book. Perhaps you can find some time to reinvent yourself yet again, and become a prize-winning author to the mega-hit children's book, with drawings by the author, called DRAINCAT. There are a lot of cat people out there; a kind of built-in audience for you.
Yes, Fridays on NOTES FROM THE KELP tend to be "cute animals" day. Like that red fox that ate out her hands, racoons, divers deer, birds of many feather, and her beloved Smudge and Moses.
I never fully realized how important it is for you to "fit in", to be part of the gang. I always thought you rather enjoyed your maverick, almost pariah, status.
Melva and I drove up to Packwood for a pizza yesterday. Still lots of snow around. It was like 40 at noon. Skate Creek is still closed, and most of the end of Hgy. 410 as well, there at Cayuse Pass beyond Chrystal Mountain. If you ever are in Packwood, try out the Cruiser Tavern; the pizza is to die for. Melva likes the chicken gizzards too; and that's lot of "z"s.
