Schooldays

I am at the library, trying to think of something to say.

Can't

Sun's out, gonna walk.

I've been advised many times to do so.

Usually the word used is "hike"

As in, "take a"

I am at the office.

It's still fairly dark out,
but then the dawn is
breaking too, the the morning
is a abuzz with birdsong,
and that far off roar
of combustion from the freeway.

My new meeting place for TFC,
our new discussion area
at 924 Broadway in Tacoma
turns out to be spiffy, neat,
and uptown, downtown, comfortable
and much more private.
I had not realized that while
holding meetings at a Book Store
one could not laugh as loudly
or use appropriate epithets
to drive home a sterling point,
since it was a business,
a public place. Now we have
our own joint, for the moment
and the members who attended
were jocular, jovial, hearty,
happy, excited, bright eyed,
and several other things that
I am still smiling about.
I had worried that the move,
the change would regress our
status quo, but quite the
opposite ensued. Word of mouth
should bolster our attendance
for next month. One can hope.

We are having a national inspection
here today, another one of those
gotcha fests, in which, and during
which we all walk on egg shells,
hope we will not be singled out
and grilled, for surely we will
say the wrong thing, or be too
self-assured, or not enough. We
will see how it goes. Maybe I will
screw the pooch and be handed
an early retirement as a gift.

I did not get my rest last night.
I never do on my club meeting
nights, something like 5 hours
max, so the cob webs are thick
as a brick, my aura is dim,
my chakras are dulled, possibly
even plugged up, my saccadic
rhythms are off, and I can't hear
much out of my right ear. But as the morning progress, the stresses
and demands on me will help me
to forget I am ill-equipped for
the day.

I envy your walking tours, of Seattle, of parks, of ruins, of
alleys, highways, byways. I have my monthly medical treatment tomorrow. Oh joy, another IV
adventure!

Hallo, Lane!
Yes, the weather has been soooo nice, that it told me yesterday to "take a hike", too!! Enjoy it while you can!! Think of last December (when I was lucky enough to be in Germany, not Snowattle!!)!!
