Suddenly last Friday
In agony as to how the heck I could finish the Viola concerto, I cut and pasted some bars and it seemed to appear as if by magic.
A little polishing and I'll be on to the agony of trying to come up with a 'cello concerto.
There's a lot of competition for a 'cello concerto.
Not so much for a viola, viola is not as appreciated as it ought to be.
people think of it as a low violin when it really does have a distinct voice.
I managed to collect a passel of facebook friends this morning.
People I actually know, some of them, and people who go to the salon others of them.
In this case, a passel is about six, tho there are more pending.
Nothing like gathering friends and loved ones for the season.
Although why the separation between "friends" and "loved ones" I dunno.
Different degrees, I suppose.
Love, the word has so many definitions that even "enemies" falls under one of them.
Theoretically loving one's enemies is supposed to make the world a better place.
As long as I don't have to live with them.
Anyway, Scores and parts are off to the gang of four and the recording project is proceeding apace.
Not very funny today, here's a picture.
Inasmuch as it's getting cold here, I thought you might like something warm and sunny.
It is, or used to be, a church.

Ah, a passel, six of one half a dozen of another? (Now you'll have me Googling again.)
Hi-ho the merry-o, a-Googling I will go.
I think of a viola as a lonesome late October wind creaking the oak rafters of a five hundred old church, with just a whisp of mourning mouse in the higher notes.
Me too -- I love my enemies as long as they are one ocean and a very large desert away.
Cheers, you!
The trick is knowing how know who your enemies are.
My concerto might be titled
"I am Viola, hear me Roar"
I'll be posting a mp3
sooner or later.
Doug & Jannie:
I loved this exchange, and quickly found the poetic linebreaks in it. I posted them on FFTR. It is entitled, VIOLA, VIOLA.
Glenn
You know this phrase: Keep your friends close and your enemies closer..
(Never worked for me;that must be my problem)
K.T, In this internet world, they can be anywhere.
Don't post your SSN!
I wonder if "passel" might not be a dialect pronunciation of the word "parcel"
Sorta like "critter" is to "creature"
Or "vittles" is to "victuals"
"A wisp of mourning mouse in the higher notes"
I love it.
"The mouse that roared" is taken.
