New Car

Today we take the Toy back to the dealer to have the Lo-jack thingy installed.
They are also going to treat the upholstery with Armor-all or something because we ordered the dark upholstery and they sent the light.
And put some kind of coating on the paint.
I don' wanna even know about it.
We bought the lifetime service package and extended warranty because I don' wanna have to deal with taking care of it.

I planned on revealing my newly formed theory today about dinosaur sizes based on some startling new discoveries I've made about bone technology.

But Later for that.

Sunday, we take the Prion (I mean Prius) to lake Quinault for several days of lakeside lounging as a changeup from our Lake Washington lakeside lounging.

Missing my first lesson at SCCC, it figures.
There are omens abounding here. Are they trying to tell me to give up music?
Are they telling me to buzz off?
Am I just to dense, thick, insensitive and obtuse to get the fact that my lack of musical sophistication and inability to play any instrument excludes from the society of real musicians?

I can't even seem to be able to hire players to prop up my artistically anorexic ego.

Zach, over at Gathering Note has a nice article about the Seattle Philharmonic, the opening concert of which I will miss even more, now that I've read.

My mind is beginning to wander so this must be the punch line to today's joke.

So the dog says, "If you think that parachute is going to do you any good, you're outa your mind".

Oh, wait, did I mention that the dog was a poodle?

No wait, maybe it was a cat.

Darn!

Yeah, yeah, when we bought our Camary Hybrid, we did the upholstery Armor-all, and undercoating, and the "special" coating on the paint, and the wraparound extended warranty, and for God's sake yes, Lo-Jack, which I am convinced could be cool if some punk actually does steal your vehicle, allowing ten cop cars to descend upon said punk within 15 minutes after Lo-Jack is "activated". But of course, now that you are retired, and prefer not to bust your knuckles on cars, it makes perfect sense to "insure" that you won't be dragged into a compromising situation.

Bone technology has always been one of my favorite subjects. I will be standing on one foot waiting for your insights.

It is about time that you finally made your annual pilgrimage to Lake Quinault, although it does not seem a full year since you guys went last time...and so I guess time flies whether you want it to or not.

SCCC, is Seattle Community College, right, so what is the third C for? Actually one of your most endearing traits is your pursuit of your dreams, your moniker of "composer", and the rather interesing sounds you create, both with your computer and your pie hole, and perhaps your mind as well.

Now let's see, as I age it is harder and harder to recall jokes. I used to be able to recite non-stop jokes for hours; not so any more. How about this punch line, The mechanic looks at the penguin, and says, "It looks like you blew a seal." "Hell, no," says the penguin," I was just eating ice cream." Or was it wombat, or a cat?
Or how about the nun says,"I will tell Mother Superior that while walking in the vineyard a pair of big hairy hands reached out and grabbed me and pulled me into the bushes, and raped me....two times if you are not too tired." Or how about,"Gosh,I knew we were organized, but I didn't know we had our own Navy."

I have just returned from a craxy weekend at Seabrook near Pac Beach, spending like 480 bucks on a cottage, all 770 sq. feet of it. the bedrooms were like closets, and the bathrooms were like closets, and there were a lot of extra closets. Our grandchildren totally trashed the place in 12 minutes, banging doors and moving furniture on the hardwood floors. Saturday our other children and spouses, and their three dogs all showed up, which took some of the pressure off Melva, who was changing poopy diapers at an alarming rate. Out oldest daughter, is in deep depression now that her husband is two days into his deployment in Iraq, and she is convinced he wants to divorce her because he does not respond rapidly enough to her three page emails sent thrice daily. We reminded her he is in a war zone, not Florida, and this seemed to just depress her more. Our middle daughter and her hubby have been approved on buying a house in Tacoma. We trotted over to see it last night. It is a 2001 forclosure, worth 300k, on sale for 239k. So they will be moving out of our house before Thanksgiving it seems.

I have been encountering difficulties computer wise trying to edit things on FFTR. What else is new?

Hallo, Lane;
Do not; I repeat: Do NOT give up composing (or music), even if you have difficulty finding musicians to perform it. Try the UW, SeaPac,
SeaU, Cornish schools of music;
they probably have starving students willing/needing to play your notes in exchange for needed bank notes!! You ARE a talented composer; one of the very few contemporary ones whose music I like to hear; "the rest is noise" as the book puts it!!
Keep up the good work!!
