Random house caves in to terror, religious stereotyping
Sherry Jones wrote a book about Mohammed's 7th wife.
Random House paid her a hundred grand to print it.
then totally caved into paranoia and refused to print it because
they were afraid of Muslim reprisals.
No Muslims of Muslim organizations had complained.
Thanks for helping support terrorism, by helping it work, you quivering cowards.
And thanks so much for for your asinine assumption that the Muslim world would instantly turn to violence.
I believe that this is the publishing house that fought for "Ulysses"
No, on second thought, I can't believe that.

Hallo, Lane, et al!
Terrorism is most effective when it doesn't have to do anything, but simply terrorizes by its possibility!

Hallo, Lane!
After your recent visit to a barber, you would no longer terrorize Security at the Cuckucks' Nest. Why not give it a fling and leave a note "Douglas Palmer was sighted in this building; where was Security -- on break??

Anonomann
Yeah, Anonomann, the Duke Nukem backgrounds do look a bit like Opera sets; nice noticing. And yes, Melva is ten years younger than I am, which puts her in her early 50's, and only just beginning to sweat menopause.
Doug, hope the Duke pix on FFTR pump you up. They certainly got me going. It would be cool to see a film of the character, but perhaps like the disappointing DOC SAVAGE film, it is better to leave the Duke in his own cyber environs.
I remember the flap over Anthony Quinn's film, MOHAMMED:Messenger of God. There was a lot of official fuss about not showing the face of the prophet--kind of like the way Jesus was depicted in BEN HUR, the man with no face. The question is whether that is reverence of horseshit.
Anonomann makes an excellent point about terrorism. It works best when just the threat of it exists, and there inactivity is as effective as the acts themselves. Christ, look at what happened to the airline industry. They may never get over this hump.
Glenn
Reverence or Horseshit?
The latter.
