More last week

bought this shirt at the chamber music festival

wore it to class wed.

david got a kick out of it, as did some total stranger on the street.

wasted a lot of time last week building a duke nukem level.

wish the game wasn't so obsolete.

i'm going to do nothing today but lay around and sweat.

the part i don't understand is double flats.

i can see no reason for their existence.

Christ on a crutch, sir--I do not check out FFTL for 2 days and you post up (3) things, the interesting stuff about Miss Emily, the 99 degree bike ride (and by the way who was it that posted dispairiging comments about your bike trips? I mean where else do you get senior citizen fitness reports and razor sharp wit and astute observations and poetic meanderings that end up on FFTR???), and of course today's lethargic but clever posting. What bugs me some is that the comment counter is static, a flat zero. No one likes to see that kind of non-response, enit?

You were insane to go biking on such a scortcher. Old timers like you can get heat stroke, and all kinds of shit could have happened to you. It is good, however, that you erased the 666 total; that was some bad mojo. You are getting the real lowdown on Miss E, and hopefully you will continue to share your insights and fantasys.

My medical treatments kicked my butt, as expected on Thursday-Friday last week. Saturday I led the discussion at the Grand Theater on Woody Allen's latest opus, VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA. In my humble opinion, this one is Woody-lite. Scarlett Johannson might as well just flash her big tits and get it over with. She has teased us for 5 years, and they are the sum total of her acting talent it seems. We had a slim turnout for the discussion, like a half dozen brave souls, rather than the two dozen that usually materialize. It is fun to hear the pitter patter of little feet as grandsons Ethan (21 months), and Austin (8 months) tear things asunder upstairs, and I make my nest in the catacombs of the cool basement. Got caught up on several films and TV shows over the weekend; hardly went outside. I liked John Turturro's film (he directed) ROMANCE AND CIGARETTES, with James Gandolfini, Susan Sarandon, Christopher Walken, Kate Winslet, and many other good folks. It is a homemade musical, off-beat, funny, and sad.

What the hell is a "duke nukem level", and what game is so obsolete?

Duke Nukem is Duke Nukem.
An old game with the very apotheosis of the Rambo macho hero.
My alter ego
The game came with a "build" editor
so that I can make up little worlds to visit and blow up.
Duke can load himself up with abt 800 pounds of weaponry and still jump 10 feet in the air while protecting the earth from alien invaders.
It's sorta like a schizophrenia that I can turn on and off at will
He also has some pithy remarks like, "It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all out of gum", or "that's one doomed space marine", or "those alien bastards are going to pay for shooting up my ride.
It's the only first-person shooter with a sense of humor.
I just wish I could share my genius with other gamers.

I'm tempted to build a version that features Bennie Hall.

Maybe I can show it to you sometime

Hallo, Lane!
I, too, wonder about the use of double-flats. Please ask David about why/when they are used and post his answer on this blogsite, as I won't be around then to hear in person, probably.
Thanks,
Anonomann
