Anas Platyrhincos, the Red Menace.

There, that's all the cars I built.
I have one more picture of this butt-ugly thing. But it's a slide and I don't want to go to the trouble to get it turned into a .jpg or whatever.

I think I might spray some lacquer on the ukulele today.

Hallo, Lane!
Is the red car in the middle the "Amphibian" you built??? I've forgotten what it looked like, but it was an amazingly great vehicle!!!
You not only build excellent musical instruments, you also made the precursor of Seattle's "Ducks"!! In the Seattle Opera blogsite, Annalena Persson ("Isolde") said she and her daughter loved their ride on a "Duck". She'd have loved to ride on your "Amphibian", I'd suspect, too!!

That's a pretty funky car. Would've been perfect for driving out here in Connecticut.

I was pleased to dig out this pic
from my family album last week
while looking for neat things
to post on my Facebook album.
So ain't it grand to unearth the
past, and bask in its absurdity?
I must say it was great living
around Doug for all those
decades, and watching the
several automobiles he built
in his basement and garage.
GOKWIIS was the amphibian.
He does have that video
filmed by his brother-in-law
of it driving on Lake Washington,
throwing a nice wake, and
plowing through the water.
Life is stranger than fiction,
especially in the vicinity of
Redwing Manor.
