Chew on this

Well, that was fun, I love the way she grabs my tongue and sticks her fingers in my mouth and scrapes around there with her little tools.
Then when she uses the little grinder with the mint flavored rubbing compound and runs her string through my teeth it's just this side of ecstasy.
And she says I'm doing a bang up job maintaining the little enamel and plastic buggers.
AND, I've got another date Monday to have some maintainence on my #7!
I can hardly wait.

After that, I stopped at the Victrola coffee house on 16th, near Group Health Hospital that my step-uncle Lyle Mercer helped found.

Tall drip and a pumpkin muffin.

Ho-Hum!

The weather is looking better for a bike trip I am getting restless for a little exercise.

You know? I've never posted a picture of Fidelio.
Maybe I'll take one and do that.
For the pathologically curious;
It's got two big wire wheels with skinny tires and a gear in between with levers on it and pedals on the levers and a chain going back to some more gears. Just over the front edge of the back wheel there's a sigmoidoscopical thing to sit on and over the front wheel there's a handle that you can hold on to that gives you a somewhat justified feeling of control.

In short, it looks like a bicycle.

One of the truly useful products of the nineteenth century industrial revolution.
A work of art of that iron mongering age.

Peugeot made, in it's early days, Napoleon's time, wire for hoop skirts.
Those days people weren't so interested in the true shape of their women, go figger, eh?
Anyway, when the bicycle fad took off, they were in shape to make wheels and did so.
Along with a few Bohemian and Irish breweries, Peugeot is one of the oldest companies in existence.
If they are still in existence.
I haven't seen any new Pooges recently.
Vive La France!

That's it for today, I guess.
It's time to get back to wrangling my staff.

Well yes they do.
This one is a dental hygienist, however.
The dentist is the one who is going to fix up my flaky incisor.

These days when you go to a dentist's office everyone is covered in plastic; hands, mouth, eyes. I guess there are some bad mojo germs out there in people's mouths and armpits.

I go in for cleaning like three times a year. It keeps the plaque to a minimum, so it doesn't feel like they are chiseling a statue of Michelangelo in my mouth. My insurance pays for two visits, and I pop for the third. Over the last 15 years I have paid for 9 crowns. The hassle is that crowns do not last forever, so some of the first ones are being "watched" now. Like watching grass grow or paint dry.

There are two dental hygienists in my dentist's practice, but neither one is lovely, red headed, or Celtic. One is a short biker chick with spiked hair, and the other is taller but equally unattractive. He used to have a cute one, years ago, but she moved on one day. Sometimes when they have my head way down and back, and my feet up in the air I start to get light headed. They do not use a rubber dam on me because of my profound gag reflex, and I salivate like an enebriated baboon. It must be a joy for them when I show up.

Emily, do not fret, Doug belongs to you. He just likes to pull your chain once in a while. Actually I did know a dental hygienist once that could write poetry. The poetry was not all that great, of course, but don't be so condescending. There are other poets in this world.

I never met Dean's brother. I guess he did not hang around much at our West Seattle digs. Fidelio will take a wonderful pic. Please follow through on that, but take it out of your basement before shooting the pic, like on the lawn, with trees and Lake Washington in the background.

Peugeot is a major French car brand, part of PSA Peugeot Citroën. It is the second largest automaker in Europe, behind Volkswagen. Peugeot's roots go back to bicycle manufacturing at the end of the 19th century. Its headquarters are in Paris, Avenue de la Grande Armée, close to Porte Maillot and the Concorde Lafayette Hotel.

Although the Peugeot factory had been in the manufacturing business since the 1700s,[1] the company's entry into the world of wheeled vehicles was by means of crinoline dresses, which used steel rods, leading to umbrella frames, wire wheels, and ultimately bicycles.[2] Armand Peugeot introduced the Peugeot "Le Grand Bi" penny-farthing in 1882 and along with a range of other bicycles. Peugeot bicycles continued to be built until very recently, although the car company and bike company parted ways in 1926.

Peugeot also makes power tools[1], knives, and pepper and salt grinders[2].

Peugeot also produced bicycles starting in 1882 in Beaulieu, France (with ten Tour de France wins between 1903 and 1983) followed by motorcycles and cars in 1889. In the late 1980s Peugeot sold the North American rights to the Peugeot bicycle name to ProCycle in Canada (also known as CCM and better known for its ice hockey equipment) and the European rights to Cycleurope S.A.

Peugeot remains a major producer of scooters and mopeds in Europe

I think at one point they manufactured motorcycles too. So get on line a look at the CCM webpage, and get caught up on the "modern" Puegeot bikes.

1982 PROCYCLE purchases the assets of C.C.M. (Canada Cycles and Motor Ltd) which is the oldest Canadian bicycles' manufacturer (since 1899).
1983 For the first time, bicycles are exported to the United States.
1988 PROCYCLE signs an agreement with Peugeot Cycles, France, for the transfer of technology procedures of the "Direct Brazing System" (DBS).
PROCYCLE grants to Mach 1, a French company, the manufacturing and distributing rights of a machine used to assemble wheels (RSA).
1989 PROCYCLE is a finalist in the ''INNOVATION'' category of the 1989 Mercuriades organized by the Quebec Chamber of Commerce.
1994 Expansion of the factory to 180,000 square feet. PROCYCLE is the winner of "VISION 94" given by the Order of Chartered Accountants of Quebec for its economical performances.
1995 PROCYCLE receives the Vendor of the Year Award 1994 from Canadian Tire Corporation. Introduction of the Oryx mountain bike line for the first year. The plant expands to 203,000 square feet.
1996 PROCYCLE now rides with 450 employees. The 5,000,000th bicycle is manufactured. The marketing for the MIKADO's touring line is a success. First bicycle manufacturer in North America to get ISO 9001 certification. Acquisition of BODYGUARD FITNESS, a high-end workout equipment manufacturer.
1997 PROCYCLE acquires ROCKY MOUNTAIN BICYCLES (high performance manufacturer) based in British Columbia. The unique Canadian high performance manufacturer to use powder coat painting process.
1999 The 6,000,000th bicycle, a CCM Legacy, is manufactured on April 7, 1999.
100th CCM anniversary and the The 30th Bodyguard anniversary.
Bodyguard wins "Product Design and Innovation Award" for its treadmill MAGELLAN and the "Gold Award" is given to Rocky Mountain Bicycles pour its RM9.
2000 Bodyguard Fitness received the "Best Customer Service Award" given by the Health & Fitness Expo. This means that Bodyguard Fitness offers the best customer service in all fitness industry.
2001 Introduction of MIELE bicycles and Velo Sport et Peugeot's brand abandoned.
August 2001 - Customer Service Award given by Health & Fitness Expo and Business Center.
" Why buy anything else ? " (Champlain Treadmill) in the Men's Journal.
" Best Buy " (Champlain Treadmill) in the Runners World, UK.
PROCYCLE acquires CYCLE BALFA (high performance manufacturer) based in Montreal.

So tomorrow, Valentine's Day, will be sunny and 48; perfect weather for a late winter foray out there on your trusty French steel steed.

Hallo, Lane & Butch!
I'd like to find a good dental hygienist, who is competent and relatively painless, who has a sure hand, and need not be "pretty" or even a female (no "girls", please, because girls are probably too young to have had adequate training. Also the practice must also accept my Regence MedAdvantage health insurance, which pays for cleaning and x-rays up to a max of $500/year. Is this true of Lane's Celtic and/or Glenn's uglies??
